8/10 Ant Staff review, 09 May 2014
Two sides... erm obviously as it’s a tape. The first side ‘Light’ is not quite as fluffy as the title suggests. An unnerving sluggish heartbeat drum machine thud is the pulse which is the backbone of zingy live jammed sounding analogue synth explorations. Over on ‘Dark’ things take a similar path, sans the drum pulse, almost feeling like an alternate version or variation on the same theme. Described by Further Records as ‘mechanized night flights’ I could imagine few brains lifting off after the sun goes down while the spools on this are rotating. A pretty appealing sinister edge to this one. Fine stuff. As are all the tapes on Further I’ve heard ‘til now.
