It took a little while to get going but the lead track here ‘Ausio’ firmly welds itself into your soul around the two minute mark. Its one of those electronic records where you can’t immediately tell what the producer has been listening to or which genre he’s actually working in. A 4/4 beat runs through the track but once the bassline kicks in you are in unchartered territory, its house but not as we know it - heavenly tuneful with a lovely repeated gritty bass phrase topped off with some gleaming and juddering keys. On the flip, ‘Indigo’ is more conventional house but its a chopped and splintered sort, the closer ‘Faces’ is more abstract; backed with drum machine its busy with assorted synth noise before a pulverising bassy beat takes over. Good stuff all round but the A side is a killer.
