7/10 Clinton Staff review, 15 May 2014

A slew of dark and mysterious techno releases this week so please forgive me for taking the airiest and most listenable out of the pile. I’m only thinking of my soft velvety ears.

This guy has had the plaudits of Martyn, Daniel Avery and Joy Orbison and purveys a highly enjoyable, form of thumping techno which on opener ‘Depicta’ comes with some rather lovely swooping noises and a kind of flickering melancholy. Perfect for a twilight A59 traverse.

On the flip the beats thump harder in regulation 4/4 time, very little happens until arpeggiated metallic synths clank into view. Struggling to pick out much in the way melody but liking the industrial vibe and scattershot percussion.
