A reissue of Paper Garden’s debut album which was released a year after The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper and is clearly more than just influenced by The Fab Four. An American group from New York, Paper Garden sound British in their instrumentation and vocals. Songs such as “Lady’s Man” sound like The Kinks while the album finishes with sitar drenched, George Harrison inspired song “Raining”. But even though it draws these inevitable comparisons, Paper Gardens is a splendid achievement rightfully praised by ‘60s psych lovers.
