‘Im Sinne Der Zeit’ is the debut LP from the Swiss duo of Sevi Landolt (organ/synths/vocals) & Daniel Bachmann (drums/vocals) for the ever present Trouble In Mind label.

I’m not entirely sure where the name comes from and I couldn’t tell you owt about the lyrical content as it’s all in Swiss but I can reassure you that KJG make a surprisingly interesting sound considering the restraints of a duo set-up. Thier sound is primarily groove based forging the rhythmic qualities of early Neu! with the parisian melodic sensibility of Stereolab which obviously, as you can imagine, sounds pretty darn sweet. Bachmann’s beats are dry and economical leaving Landolt wide open to explore organ and synth tones with confidence.

Annoyingly this stripped back yet tuneful approach to songwriting shines a spotlight on the vocals which, as I mentioned before, are indecipherable due to the language barrier. That’s the only disappointing element mind so don’t let that put you off this genuinely intriguing collection.
