This psych-rock duo from Burlington, Vermont seem to have been doing everything right so far. They've already got singles on Mexican Summer and Reverb Appreciation Society and an appearance on the cult 'Psych for Sore Eyes' 2x7" comp alongside Hookworms and Lorelle Meets the Obsolete, and now they're dropping their debut album on Sonic Cathedral with Sonic Boom twiddling the knobs and buddy Dean Wareham chipping in with some guitar on one of the tracks.   The music's good too, brooding and hypnotic darkrock with lots of British influences like Echo & the Bunnymen and the Jesus & Mary Chain and Mr Boom's own Spacemen 3 via intense Suicide drum machine violence, trance-inducing repetition a la new school psych bands like Follakzoid or Hookworms, and wildly distorted walls of almost industrial noise that can bring to mind Throbbing Gristle as easily as they do The Heads. Guitars throb and flicker in a desert haze as they drift louchely through the cosmic distorto-walls like slacker spectres experiencing some kind of out of body revelation.
