Emerging from the cultural hotbed of Chorley, Lancs featuring ex members of Kong and signed to the new label from the folks who brought you the Brew label, this is a solid enough start for all concerned.

The album is a strident collection of confident, slightly murky indie. 'Any Other Thing' immediately catches the ear with stabby guitar chords which reminds me of The Auteurs 'Lenny Valentino' but opener 'Heaven Won't Wait' has the spacier feel of early Verve or Spaceman 3. It has a great churning quality and the female vocals are particularly effective. 'Restart Your Heart' is snagging my ear second time round and exemplifies the noisy slacker 90's rock on offer. Quite similar in places to label mates Nine Black Alps and on closer 'A Wasp in Your Mouth' (No! Don't!) early Snow Patrol. I'll be suprised if Lamacq's not giving this a spin in weeks to come.
