Formed in London by Neil Rudd the Krautrock obsessed Eat Lights Become Lights have already wowed critics and fans alike with the few records they already have under their belt.
‘Into Forever’ is the fourth album and another journey into more sonic territories, this time the feel of the album is a much more organic and clean one (with the exception of noisy opener ‘Velocet Vir Nesat’). We have lovely circular Can like electronics on the one hand with ‘Bounce Synth’ and science fiction style space rock on ‘Time Enough’. I’m always impressed when an artist or band can flit from one style to another on an album with seamless quality, this does that in bucket loads.
ELBL are a band that can turn their talents to almost anything, whether it’s droning space rock, Kraftwerk style looping synths or mesmeric Steve Reich-esque soundscapes. ‘Into Forever’ looks toward pioneering legends of Krautrock and electronic music for it’s inspiration and at the same time Eat Lights Become Lights seem to be forging a pretty impressive reputation for themselves as well.
