7/10 Mike Staff review, 25 April 2014

Pjusk/Sleep Orchestra have the questionable distinction of being my final review of the week, and they're lulling me into the weekend with this somnolent collection of drones and field recordings. It's all very subtle, sounds gently oozing from your speakers in sleepy slow motion.

There isn't a lot to say about this kind of music sometimes. The drones are mostly of the synth variety, sometimes augmented by some dreamy brass, and tend to be pretty concordant, sometimes swelling in and out of the sound field and sometimes drifting steadily and smoothly along. There are subtle micro-beats in places but like the field recordings they tend to produce a fairly steady stream of kinetic texture which offsets the stillness of the drones. It's glacial and quite therapeutic, subtlety and understatement are the catchwords here.
