6/10 Clinton Staff review, 04 June 2014
An interesting curio from back in 1981 and by gosh it sounds it. No timeless retro futurism here. This sounds like all the David Bowie-aping synth bands of the day, from Tubeway Army to Ultravox to Visage. The vocals are pure Bowie meets Richard Butler (Psychedelic Furs) - almost frighteningly so. And its hard not to think of Ricky Gervais's Seona Dancing project. The synths are more Flock of Seagulls than Kraftwerk but if you have a fetish for the era where synth met rock with preposterous over-enunciated vocals, then you'll find lots to enjoy on this re-issue of both their sought-after albums.
