8/10 Mike Staff review, 13 March 2014

When Quasimoto's ace 'Yessir Whatever' anthology came out a few months ago, there was a bit of a disappointment with the sleeves, which were originally supposed to feature a peel-off sticker so that Lord Quas's visage could be removed from the sleeve to reveal some cartoon guts. Disastrously, however, the stickers were too sticky so nobody got to see the guts, a real shame after such lengths had been taken to make a cool sleeve.

Not to be discouraged, though, Stones Throw are finally giving us a proper glimpse of Mr Moto's guts on this shaped 45, and very snazzy they look too. Not only that but pressed into it are 'Planned Attack', a highlight from the aforementioned collection with a loose'n'lazy groove and trademark pitched-up flow. 'Talkin Shit' is a short little number, it's got a pretty sweet little sample groove going on but seems a bit throwaway compared to the much stronger track on the other side. Very cool-lookin' bit of plastic though.
