Second album from Shit Robot a.k.a Marcus Lambkin for the prestigious DFA label and it’s an all-star affair with the likes of Jamie Lidell, Townsell (jackin’ it), Reggie Watts, Museum Of Love, Nancy Whang, Holly Backler and Jenr contributing to Lambkin’s distinctively DFA-esque disco jamz.

You may be familiar with the excellent title track as it came out as a single a while back but other than that it's all fresh tunes, decent too. All very straight-forward examples of party business encompassing (and kinda ripping on) classic House, Acid House, Disco and Italo jamz with crisp, superslick production elevating them to greater heights than the some of their parts. I mean these tunes are bumpin’ and feel all the more essential now LCD have called it day. ‘Dingbat’ for example sounds like the best tracks on ‘Sound Of Silver’ spun out into the cosmic abyss with Museum Of Love’s vocal line bringing with it pure bliss.

Elsewhere the Lidell/Townsell’s collab impresses with it’s soulful take on jackin’ and, although it’s a little corny, I’d be up on the dancefloor quicksharpish if I heard it out and about. And why the hell not, all the trademark tones are present and correct and the vibe is right. It’s taking me back. Other highlights include ‘Feels Real’ with it’s purest take on Disco and, of course, the aforementioned Reggie Watt’s fronted ‘We Got A Love’. All good extended party cuts to kick of the springtime vibe.
