Here’s a new 7” complete with Nirvana-aping sleeve from grungey duo '68. Their sound is somewhere between the aforementioned grungers and fellow Sub Poppers the Murder City Devils, but in that redux two-piece style. Don’t let their lack of personnel fool you, though, this is one of those duos who are out to prove that they can riff just as hard as most quartets.

A veteran of God-bothering metalcore outfits Norma Jean and The Chariot, Josh Scogin’s voice is a jagged Hawk Eyes-ish howl, his guitar is trebly and harsh and loud, while Michael McClellan hits the drums hard and obviously likes Dave Grohl. If you’re lamenting the recent demise of Sheffield’s excellent Wet Nuns this little disc will probably cheer you up no end.

On the B side there’s a quiet bit in the middle with some AFI-style “whoa-oh-oh”s paired with admirably disgusting little feedback squeaks before the riff kicks back in. This is pure filth; nasty-toned grunge riffs with a ‘90s-ish teen-punk immediacy. Promising.
