This is a nice album of carefully plucked back porch folky pop. My initial guess that it was a kind of rootsier Real Estate was generally incorrect except for the lovely 'Real Song For Emily' which drifts along pretty nicely. Otherwise the band work in a more folk-based singer songwriter territory with wandering arrangements featuring banjo to the fore. Reminds me a lot of bands like Royal City and to an extent Bright Eyes (no whinin' though). On 'Pickin Strawberries' they sound like an Arcade Fire forced to only use acoustic instruments.
