Before Britpop came along but after Grunge had fizzled out, the music press were desperate for a new musical movement. S*M*A*S*H came along and were lumped in with a handful of other bands to create such a movement. They were christened The New Wave Of The New Wave by NME. One of their songs was the anti-tory, politically charged (I Want To) Kill Somebody. To show their disdain for our current government they have re-recorded their song and released it as a single. This time it’s backed with Condemned by NXTGEN - a rapper, bin man and YouTube sensation from Loughborough whose targets are the bedroom tax, David Cameron and austerity measures.
