This Swedish duo make a most welcome return to Avian with their fourth release for the label. I’m not so sure about the eerie melody on opener ‘VVVLLLLVVV’. It has a kinda dark trance feel to it that’s similar in style to Prurient’s ‘Through The Window’ album. It’s just on that fine line for me where it just strikes me as being a bit corny. Other than that it’s a straight up Shxcxchcxsh tune that I’m sure a lot of folks will dig, it’s just my personal taste I guess and I'm not gonna bullshit you.

Over on the B-side ‘MRRRWRRRDS’ has tough rolling drums and a Jeff Mills/ Planetary Assault Systems deep sci-fi techno style sound palette but SHXCXCHCXSH totally own the drums . As an alternative to being muntered dancing to this in a sweaty club I’d be more than happy having it blasting out of a video game where I’m controlling a boss space craft blasting the living shit out of asteroids travelling at hyperspeed. Oh nooOoOoO maybe I’m getting old and my techno partying days are numbered... Arrrgghhhh! Never! I’ll be that old man throwing shapes from his zimmer frame as long as tunes like ‘MRRRCHNNN’ are still destroying dancefloors. Gotta love that ceaseless pounding groove that just seems like it’s getting crunchier and crunchier until the point it feels like bits are breaking off, like drums made of concrete gradually crumbling with each hit.

I can live without the first tune but both tracks on the B-side make this a keeper.
