Not much needs to be said about this. Radstewart are a lo-fi dirge pop group that cop big time from the Pavement back catalog, albeit it the lazier, plodding tunes.

Not only are they highly capable but they also have one of those play on words band names that everyone’s so hot on nowadays. Personally I would have gone with Radhull but wheteves. The thing I like most about them is that they’re young and naive enough to not appreciate the crime of so blatantly ripping on Malkmus’ style. If I didn’t know better I’d be impressed by the apparent ballsiness of the group. It’s like those early Soundgarden singles/albums that so shamelessly ripped off Led Zeppelin.

It could be the making of the band or it could ultimately be their undoing, only time will tell. Still, you can’t beat Pavementisms if you ask me.
