The latest in the The Fields remix 12” series opens with a track you ‘ll need from the minute you set the needle on the wax.

John Tejada’s take is a splendid effort. Starting quiggly with bursts of voice coming in and out of the mix it is soon ladled with the most brilliant bass-line which pins the track together allowing all the requisite bits and pieces to fall into place. It builds brilliantly with some bloopy acid synth and haunting keyboards adding to the intoxicating brew. As the drums increase in intensity it makes me want to get off my seat and do a small boogie around the room. Yes, that good. A great life affirming slab of electronic music.

On the B side the Tim Hecker mix uses the same vocal slab as the A side but this is almost beatless save a few crackles and is more about melding together the voices piteched at various levels with some fizzing drifting synths. The final TM404 mix is a digi-dub low end gloop, more subtle and much more of an acid feel to the balls of synth which are bouncing around. Three completely different interpretations and all great in their own way.
