“Enough hooks to hang your entire wardrobe on. It’s going to be a big 2014 for this lot”. Not my words, the words of the New Musical Express. And we have to take seriously any tips from the magazine which recently put Miles Kane on the cover proclaiming him the saviour of rock and roll.
As you may expect its lively lad rock. It bounds around like a brand new puppy, excited at every turn. The main track ‘TV’ is very much like those 90’s bouncy pop acts from Kingmaker to Terrorvision to Pop Will Eat Itself. It has utterly nothing to say - basically they can’t sleep without the TV on and they like to go out - it won’t say anything to anyone over the age of 25 but its a frenetic effort ranging from a spiky discordant opening to a singalong section but there’s a nice plaintive bit later which I’m quite warming to showing that the band aren’t just about jumping about and slathering beer anywhere.
Elsewhere ‘Bubbles’ is one part Kasabian one part Blur, ‘Melting’ like a youthful The Feeling, closer ‘Houses On The Plain’ is seemingly all E.L.O drifty til’ a distorted shouting session. Being old, I’m not the best one to judge so lets see if the kids take to it.

Such a great EP - I have loved these guys for ages and they have just kept on getting better and better. I've been excited for a proper physical release since I first saw them at their headline show in Brum in 2013 too, and this hasn't disappointed. Great stuff!
