EoOo is an alias of Ian McDonnell, last spotted as Eomac with an EP on The Trilogy Tapes. He also comprises half of Dublin techno duo Lakker who’ve done great things on Blueprint, Stroboscopic Artefacts and most recently R&S. As EoOo, Ian appears to be operating in possibly an even more fucked up mode than his Eomac tracks. ‘Workout’s is wonky as hell totally deranged squeaky dynamic techno that has some mental chopped up Errorsmith flavour. There’s plenty of tricks to send the dancefloor into a frenzy with a sorta filtered ravey thing happening.
‘Battery Baby’ is like a stuttering juddering electro-house wobble-step thing with a ridiculous mutating rubbery bassline which then goes all gritty and oldskool hardcore and then back to wonky garage, then eventually erupts into full on warped wriggly Belgian rave. A pretty bonkers tune that I can see a dancefloor responding to this in pure ecstasy. There’s a sense of deviant humour in there too.
‘We Are All The Same’ has a bleepy melody that very much recalls Zomby’s update of the classic bleeps n bass sound. A bit of crackle, a smattering of vocal samples creating a darker mood and Bob’s yer uncle.
