Got a split single here with some cool indie rock on it. On side A there's Vivian Girl Cassie Ramone strumming away at an acoustic guitar and singing about how she's a loser. It's dead charming and sounds like it could've been written during that New York "antifolk" boom around the turn of the millennium by someone like Toby Goodshank or Joie Dead Blonde Girlfriend. Catchy, lo-fi, self-effacing and thoughtful.

Over on the other side things get a bit higher-fi on X-Ray Eyeballs' 'Only You', a bare-bones bit of goth-post-punk with chorussy bass, thin minimal guitar and vocals with a weird backwards masking type effect and sparse electronic beats. It's chilly and human like early Cure stuff, and the way the emotional vocals and mechanical drums go together reminds me of Future Islands. Both contributions here are very different, but they're both enjoyable songs.
