Firstly I want to talk about the inner bag. Its beautiful. Basically a brown paper bag like the sort you used to get sweets in, or some item or other from the stationers. The music? Not so good. 5/10 Clinton Staff review, 20 March 2014

Firstly I want to talk about the inner bag. Its beautiful. Basically a brown paper bag like the sort you used to get sweets in, or some item or other from the stationers. The music? Not so good.

There has been a lot of discussion in the office of late about the certain genres we don’t cover too much….and this kind of Bob Harris-friendly alt country is one of them. Now out of the staff at our disposal,  I veer the closest to enjoying this sort of stuff but this is still waaaaay way too safe for me. The opener ‘Molly O’ is the kind of dreary Dire Straits style rock it seems suddenly ok to peddle. ‘If You Go To LA’ is standard singer songwriter stuff scrubbed to within an inch of its life. ‘Running Through My Head’ is plodding singer songwriter guff bland enough to fit on even the safest of American FM country stations.

Phil said something pertinent the other week, "I’ll never be old enough to like music like this". And its true. Even when I’m 80 years old I’ll balk at the sugary sweet adult orientated rock on show here, yet reading Uncut magazine you’d think Simone Felice was some kind of genius. Each to their own I suppose.

9/10 Madcap Customer review, 24th March 2014

Please do not be put off by Clinton's rather silly review. I guess because it didn't make his ears bleed its too 'safe' for him. Uncut magazine are right, Simone Felice is indeed a genius.
