The Anthology of American folk music trilogy is a compilation album, put together by artist and eccentric Harry Smith in 1952. Smith used records from his own collection of folk, blues, gospel and country music, and the album has been credited with helping to kick off the American folk revival in the '60s. The second album, subtitled ' Social Music' is based around songs performed at social gatherings.
