8/10 Ronan Doherty Customer review, 1st March 2014

Fantastic new release from Boxcutter following on his Debut album under 'The Host' alias. 'Gnosis EP' is in a similar vein starting out in beautiful ambience with 'Not The End of The World' - glassy synths, operatic & sparkling call and response melodies, bass waves & epic guitar make this a delight for the ears! Dream Gator (with Ken & Ryu) is a dance floor banger bashing out footwork rhythms with sub heavy 808s at 160bpm & a spliced Jungle break accent & some 8-bit hooks from his friend Ken & Ryu. Side B kicks off with a warm up blinder 'Daylight Saving' & it has enough groove to get any club vibe started! Dubstep & footwork rhythms through-out with vintage synths & filtered guitar taking you on an inward journey. 'Gno515' has a softer edge with rolling trap music style snares, deep bass & interweaving melodies floating throughout. Tibetan Metastate ends Gnosis on a chilled out ghostly vibe with beautiful sweet melodic percussion, intricate rhythms & sounds that take the mind far far away.. Overall it's a sonic & rhythmic journey for any listener with a beautiful sleeve to boot.. RECOMMENDED!!
