I don't buy a lot of indie rock type music, however the music of Michael.A Grammar has got me hooked. There is rather more going on than originally expected. Their perious EP 'Vitamin Easy' had shades of Air alongside folky touches to give the record more interest. This ep again blends genres to provide a pleading set of tunes ideal for hazy summer afternoon's. The first track, The Day I Come Alive starts out at a laid back pace begore bursting into life around a quarter way in with a lovely jangly vibe that put me in mind of the Boo Radleys at their finest. The second track 'Suzanna' is again a lovely track of slightly fuzzy indie rock that makes you wonder at the object of the song.
The further two tracks, Upstairs Downstairs and The Way You Move continue in this vein, proving a further few minutes of slightly downbeat joy. Fans of the Stephen Steinbrink LP would find much to enjoy here. Indeed, the Melodic label is putting out some great stuff at the moment, the couple of EP's by Michael.A Grammar are no exception to this. I'll be looking out for further releases.
