8/10 Clinton Staff review, 13 December 2013

They make a big sound these lads, all pounding, stadium-sized dynamics and hollered, gravelled vocals - The Skids as if fronted by a barking dog.

It's a massive post-punk sound with alternately twangy/gritty guitars and production values which make all the other bands sound as big as a pip. The guitars are all McGeoch, Adamson, and Levine on your ass. ‘Tough Love’ is Dub Sex meets Public Image Limited in an ice rink, and just when you think you have it all worked out it steps up a gear into a monumental chorus and there’s no going back.

On the flip, ‘Opaque’ belts along as if escaping from a darkened underpass. I’m worried about the singer's vocal chords, if he carries on like this they may disintegrate completely before their debut album comes out.

As grey and foreboding as the housing estates depicted on their sleeves and I mean that only as a rather large compliment.
