8/10 Andrew Customer review, 19th October 2014

J Rocc should be way higher profile than he is. One of the dj's pretty central to Stones Throw it is perhaps his lack of material under his own name that holds him back, not helped by the limited nature of that which is released. His album on Stones Throw was elusive as hell, I'd have bought it if I'd ever seen it. His work on megamixes (not sure if that term is used anymore) is superb though.

Here he mixes up tracks from the compilation of the same name, an excellent collection of private press funk, boogie, folk, library and rock, that merged together creates a superb collage of breaks, funky grooves and off kilter vibes. A couple of versions are provided and are both worthwhile. Its not going to change the world, but it makes thatcworld a hell of a lot funkier and more pleasurable for the time its on.
