Back in the day, Entombed were untouchable in the death metal community. While many regard their debut 'Left Hand Path' to be their best, I'd say 'Clandestine' is better as it is heavier and more polished, while retaining the punchy aggression of their debut. The opening track "Living Dead" is probably one of the most face–ripping openings to a metal album of all time. Then you have tracks such as "Sinners Bleed", "Evilyn" and "Blessed Be", and it's clear that they show no signs of letting up; it's just a full–on death metal maelstrom from start to finish. I'd say it's best to listen to this album all in one go, as an entirety, rather than dissecting it track by track. With 'Clandestine', Entombed laid the groundwork for many metal bands from Sweden, and for an early-90s death metal release, this album should be considered a titan of its time.
