I could sell this to you all by telling you it's the guitarist from Women and leaving it at that.

But had I bought this on the basis of that tremendous group, after the first couple of tracks I’d have thrown it out the nearest window. They always were a contrary lot though. Opening pair ‘Bobbi’ and ‘Good Friday’ are both Arab on Radar style spazz-thrash that also recalls the early, messy Black Dice. However, once they get their temper tantrum over with ‘Knock on My Door’ sounds remarkably like a slo-mo devastated take on Women....or a Velvet Underground who have let themselves go (copyright Reviewbot 3000).

On the flip ‘Juanita’ and ‘Desert Corpse’ which seem to co-exist as one long piece showcase a mantra-like splurge of underground rock. Despite the haphazard nature of the record, ‘Knock at the Door’ certainly suggests that there is life in the old dog yet.
