Anyhoo ‘Robe For Juda’ is pretty sweet sounding. It’s got huge, wall-of-sound guitars swathed in reverb. Underpinning them is a chuggy, dirty-sounding Pixies-like bassline and Kristian Bell’s delicate vocals. That is, until the chorus comes in which is sludge doom metal. It totally comes out the blue. It’s kinda mental sounding but I like it!

So, Crampsy style voodoo indie rock morphing into doom metal isn’t what I was expecting from this. I’m a bit concerned the B side might be Jazz flute based funk fusion morphing into comedy poetry so I think I’m gonna give it a miss. Well interesting though.
