Ok then lovers of all thing psych and all things 60’s, we have 5 (five) new singles by Fruits De Mer in stock, all in bright, garish sleeves, all featuring modern day people doing old songs. Annoyingly,  we don’t have time to write about them all but I’m going to link them all to this page so you have NO EXCUSES ya hear me?

The one I’ve picked to tell you about is called Shrunken Head Music which consists of people I’ve never heard of doing old 70’s kraut rock/synth type things. Opener ‘To Another World’ by Frobisher Neck is a lovely piece of haunting synth washiness made only using a sole heavily reverbed mellotron. Gorgeous.  On the flip, Black Tempest do an eerie take on Tangerine Dream’s ‘Rubycon Part 1’ squashing down the lengthy original into a three minute pulsing synth blast.

And, as Frank Carson used to say, there’s more. On the second  7” Vespero do a raucous take on Faust’s J’ai Mai Aux Dents’, it seems improbable now that ‘The Faust Tapes retailed for 49p but it did. Finally, Jay Tausig covers ‘The Glorious Om Riff’ by Gong featuring squealing guitar. Its like punk rock never happened.  All in all very nicely done and very collectible - you know what to do.
