By 1972, this configuration of Velvet Underground were a distant memory, but they got it together for a one-off show at the Bataclan club in Paris. Some wise soul recorded the whole thing off of the soundboard, capturing these classics played in a largely acoustic setting. Its back on vinyl here with a couple of extra rehearsal cuts and some new liners.

7/10 Jack Customer review, 29th January 2015
Lou Reed, Nico, and John Cale. All three of these artists were a part of the Velvet Underground, at least on the first album. The Lion's share of the material is sung by Lou Reed. Two of his are only rehearsals though. He does five songs in concert, John does three, and Nico sings six. The final two are rehearsal recordings. Although these are not perfect recordings, they are clear enough to release, and certainly essential because they capture a moment when three giants of avant pop united in song.
