This album from Funkadelic is one of those pieces you should have in your record collection if you have any pretentions of being a music fan. Seriously. Why haven’t you? You’re not a music fan; you secretly like the Spice Girls, don’t you? And the new stuff from Take That. Ugh. Stop. Buy this. Get real. On vinyl.

10/10 Luke Knight Customer review, 12th November 2015

Heavy heavy funk. If you like Red Hot Chili Peppers you'll love Funkadelic the psych rock band formed from The Parliaments.

The amazing George Clinton who you can thank for Snoop Dogg's bow wow samples and he produced an album for the Chili Peppers. Influential.

This album kicks off with one of the greatest guitar solos of all time Maggotbrain with gorgeous analog delay on the guitar and echo on the drums such atmosphere is created that you forget about anything than you and the song.

It is said that George Clinton told guitarist Eddie Hazel to think of the saddest thing he could think of (which was his mother dying) and then play the solo. After playing back the recording Clinton realised how incredible the guitar track was and removed other instruments apart from the rhythm guitar, vocals and drums timeless song.

Other highlights of the album are "Hit and Quit it" which shows Funkadelic's huge sound with gang vocals, pianos, big bass lines and synthesisers. And another highlight "Can You Get to That" is funked out with deeeeep deeeep vocals from Clinton in a call a response with the other vocalists.

You will never regret this album.

What a mind blowing album. Stunningly presented on high quality Orange Vinyl and sounding funktastic. The ten minute guitar wig out of track one is something else and sounds as fresh as a multicoloured daisy. Can't rate this release highly enough for the music, presentation and sound quality. Long live Vinyl if only all other releases where this good.
