7/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 28th June 2015

More stomping Americana from Billy Bragg and Wilco. Volume two of this series didn't grab me as much as the fab Volume One did, but this is still pretty good. It opens with "Airline To Heaven", the rattling acoustic guitars give it a Bob Dylan quality. "My Flying Saucer" sees Bragg singing his heart out to a Buddy Holly-ish arrangement. "Feed of Man" has a bluesy, Dylanesque vibe. "Secrets of the Sea" and "Remember the Mountain Bed" sound pretty much like Wilco songs and are less rootsy than the other material. Billy Bragg seems to be in his element on the raucous "All You Fascists" which is followed by the jaunty "Joe DiMaggio Done It Again", an odd sequencing decision, but it works. If you liked the first one, this is worth buying. It's good, but there aren't as many stand-out moments.
