10/10 steve Customer review, 30th April 2015

First off this is the last record I bought from the newly re-pressed albums. I've found I rate Nick Cave as highly as Johnny Cash and Mark Lanagan. He has that MANS voice when he sings. This album is great I love how they have recorded it and it seems to emphasize Nicks voice in a way no other record he's done has. Yes I know its live yes I know its intimate but I've heard songs by Nick in these settings and nothing sets his vocals alive like on this album. I love it I really do and I think maybe it does deserve a 10/10. Highly recommended

8/10 Gary Fowles Customer review, 17th February 2014

A stripped down Bad Seeds and Cave recorded in front of an intimate audience. You know what to expect, and it doesn't disappoint. Push the Sky Away was one of last years best records for me, which was a bit of a surprise since ole Nick has been making records long enough now that he should either be doing his version of The Frog Song or going all art on us and recording sides of beef being slapped. Instead he's still ploughing away at the furrow he started all those years ago, gradually perfecting his sound by changing slightly every ten years or so. So as I said you know what to expect with this. Even when Cave LPs don't quite hit the mark on record, they always manage to come alive when played live. This is more subdued than his other live records, but still packs enough of punch to make you sit up and listen. Old songs have been given new arangemnts, which for the most part works. If you're a fan or on the fence about whether to buy this then I'd say go for it. But make sure you buy the vinyl since it contains two more tracks than the CD, and looks lovely, gatefold and all that.
