It’s rare that a new Leeds band passes me but Autobahn have done just that, spawning a 12” (one-sided just incase you’re interested) within their first year (they formed way back in Feb 2013) and impressing with support slots for Merchandise and local heroes Eagulls. Sorry lads, I’ve let you down. Opener ‘Seizure’ is caked in feedback and brings to mind the gothy elements of A Place To Bury Strangers or them Savages kids everyone’s been banging on about all year.

The singer certainly does a good Ian Curtis. ‘Force Fed’ could be Eagulls if it wasn’t for the lack or phaser/chorus on the guitars and, for what’s it’s worth, I reckon ‘Lost Tongues’ is the strongest of the bunch in terms of nailing that gothy P.I.L-esque post-punk sound. Definitely the most memorable of the three. Looks like the classic Leeds sound is coming back around. Sisters Of Mercy anyone?
