Possessor of one of the best moustaches of the last 30 years (alongside Zappa, Beefheart, Crosby et al) and now with a series of important re-issues it is becoming more and more apparent that there is a lot more to the man than just having a moustache.

Lights in the Attic have spent 7 years getting this thing ready and by jimminy look at it. Or them because there are two versions. The ‘cheap’ version has 172 page hard-cover book, 150 rare and unseen photo’s, a DVD, 4CD’s and most importantly Lee’s original embossed business card.  The deluxe version has all that plus 3 DVD’s containing 305 tracks and a 1970 Hazlewood Airline ticket all in a cloth bound clamshell box.

The music contained within is everything Lee recorded for the LHI label PLUS key tracks from the LHI roster of artists which by the sound of the 14 track sampler we are listening to is top-notch 1960’s beautifully orchestrated pop with skyscraping melodies and gorgeously melancholic melodies. Lynn Castle’s ‘Rose Colored Corner’ an undoubted highlight with its terrific Love-like melody. Brilliant and I’m sure just the tip of the iceberg. Expensive but there is always Santa Claus.
