6/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 26th October 2014
Lily and Madeleine’s eponymous debut starts with a few notes on piano that sounds like some bloody Coldplay song, but fortunately “Sounds Like Somewhere” goes on to please us with more gentle melody and harmonies that we enjoyed on their debut EP “Weight Of The Globe”. This album is a far more produced affair than he EP and perhaps suffers slightly from that. Also, with the EP being significantly shorter, the album comes across as a bit samey, although “Nothing But Time” and “I've Got Freedom” are a little more upbeat than the rest. It’s still a decent effort and their ability as musicians and songwriters is clear. However, I feel that it doesn't reach the heights that their EP did with songs like “Things I’ll Later Lose”.
