It’s always a good day when something new arrives from In The Red Records and today is no exception, with this debut LP from Brooklyn’s self-anointed “thug pop” quartet Pampers. Produced by Ben from The Men, this is a scorching collection of pounding garage punk numbers replete with dense walls of fuzz guitar, clanking bass and pounding neanderthal drums which often focus on a repetitive one-beat which brings it into similar hypnotic territory to krautrock or hard psych on longer tracks like ‘Sack Attack’, but always with that brutally punky tone palette and hard, fast delivery.

The pace never really lets up, but the “pop” aspect of their style is still prominent, with the simple hooks coming thick and fast in a way which brings to mind the Marked Men crossed with early Ramones or the Coachwhips. It’s snotty and relentless caveman punk played from the crotch, great fun.
