Garage rock savants The Beets are back once again this week with another 7”. You probably already know what to expect here; snotty and shambolic pop songs with reverby guitars like a particularly naive and raucous take on the whole Nuggets/Pebbles aesthetic you kids love so much, like Strange Boys injected with Thee Oh Sees’ manic dorky energy.

A side ‘Psychedelic Bee’ is a dreamy number with a girl singer where they’re taking it easy, ‘Silver Nickels & Golden Dimes’ is a Milkshakes-esque stomper with snotty boy vocals. It’s encased in their usual detailed and hilarious drawings. They’re the type of band who polarise opinions, but if you already like them, you’ll enjoy this. If you think they’re annoying, this won’t change your mind.
