I thought for a horrible second that it said “Flute Time”. It’s NEVER Flute Time...NEVER!!!!! This is the sweetest of soulful music from mid ‘70s Minneapolis. Ah the Twin Cities, kind of like an American version of Manchester and Salford, once driving on the bridge between the two cities I saw a massive billboard of...Hall and Oates’ big fat airbrushed faces.

Anyway as some may know, Prince came from this area of the world and this appears to be a collective of musicians who were at work in the days before the purple one came to prominence. Its slick funk grooves are so evocative of the era, it’s so...soft. Why doesn’t music sound like this now? It sounds like it was recorded with the softest cushion taped over the microphone. ‘I’ve Got You On My Mind’ sounds like a late-era Chic ballad and oddly ‘It’s The Things That You Do’ sounds like a late-era Chic “rocker” - anyone who is familiar with the album ‘Tongue In Chic’ will know what I’m on about. Slick ‘70s funk/disco with a touch of class.
