7/10 Jim Sundae Customer review, 9th January 2014

Released around the same time as their taut and menacing Dawn of the Dead soundtrack, and just after the relentless and demonic Suspiria soundtrack, this album is a cheery throwback to their more proggy days - a goofy, funky little brother. One problem I have is my inability to understand the lyrics (which have been described alternately as a ‘harrowing story of Mark the junky's downward spiral into addiction’ or ‘the fun colourful world of a bug named Mark’), and I’m yet to find someone well versed enough in Italian as well as patient enough to tolerate an hour of translating melodramatic insect based prog. Sounding less a 'soundtrack to a non-existant film' and more like Yes-obsessed dads jamming, it is still a good album, with enough glimpses of the brutally tight and dramatic Goblin of the late 70s to enjoy Mark the bug's fantastic musical voyage.
