Oh lordy, look what just arrived. It’s the latest haul from Goodbye Boozy! There’s three singles from them this week by Drags, Sick Thoughts and this one by Bikes. The Bikes album was one of my favourites of last year, not only because of its mindblowingly awesome sleeve art but also because it had the most tightly crafted and infectious garage rock gems east of the Segall/Cronin peninsula, a compact 45rpm gem which belongs in any self-respecting garage fans collection.

Now I’m delighted to see them back on our shelves on this one-sided 7” with three different sleeve variants each limited to 66. There are two tracks on here and they keep it lean and scrappy with hollered vocals and red hot guitar amps bellowing out the delightfully titled ‘Ocean Penis’ before they get poppier still on ‘Can’t Wait’ for a tasty slice of garage pop with a hint of glam and the same pleasingly blown-out tones. Filthy, mysterious and brief, just like the best garage rock should be. If you’re into the likes of Ty Segall and Eddy Current Suppression Ring I strongly recommend you check this lot out!
