There’s something about Vision Fortune that I find very difficult to review. I put their records on, I nod my head for what feels like a minute or two, and then they’re over and I haven’t written a thing. They make weird throbbing soundscapes out of muddy throbs, dub-echoed voices, queasy washes of distortion, uneasy looped samples, automaton pop and growling drones.

It’s deeply hypnotic and yet also quite restlessly weird, sometimes seeming a little thrown together like a collage of scrap ideas which have been scrambled and warped and regurgitated, sometimes giving the feel of a more primitivist Hassle Hound. It’s quite different from their debut on Gringo, but much like that LP it leaves you wondering whether you listened to a record or just dreamt that you did.
