- Repulsion by Burma Camp

Avian sub-label Mira is really coming into its own, with artists seemingly preferring to operate under new aliases for their contributions to the label; Shifted as Covered in Sand, Ventress as Worn, Bleaching Agent as... erm... Bleaching Agent and now The KVB (yes them) as Burma Camp. Continuing the labels explorations into the very edges of techno where drone, noise and industrial meet, this is a right old beast of a 10”.
‘Repulsion’ has walls of noisy guitar drone throbbing under minimal skittering percussion and twisted demonic voices smothered in dubbed out effects. All pretty noisy and nightmarish but really involving rather than being harsh. ‘Isa’ has some full throttle intense and brutal nose-bleed techno rhythms that seem to get more and more insane, a massive energy rush, again complete with vocals, in this case, screaming and distorted. After it threatened to make my brain explode with excitement things get taken down several notches for the ethereal dream like Lynchian vibes of Attraction. Nice druggy/ downer action on this one.
Am digging this more than The KVB stuff, although it might be a bit far out/ noisy for the majority of their fan base but who knows. Either way it’s highly recommended.
