I love my ‘Hibernate’ mug. It’s not actually my Hibernate mug, it belongs to the office but I do insist on drinking out of it at every opportunity. Coffee tastes better out of it somehow. I love my ‘Hibernate’ mug. It’s not actually my Hibernate mug, it belongs to the office but I do insist on drinking out of it at every opportunity. Coffee tastes better out of it somehow. Thank you to the nice people at Hibernate for such a wonderful mug. Hibernate, of course, is a label based out of the beautiful town of Hebden Bridge. Linked to it is its sister label Rural Colours and via that circuitous route we arrive at this disc of ambient music.

What we have is a series of gentle drones from Ben Worth, a man born in the United Kingdom but now resides in Canada (Hi Ben, How does one escape?). He fiddles with loop pedals and the like to produce glimmering electro-acoustic goodness that has the feel of a harsh winter landscape underfoot. It mainly drones pleasantly but speckles of picked guitar enter the mix. All very lovely. Limited to 150 copies.
