I’ve not heard of The Dirty Rivers before but they’ve got an angry kid with an owl on their sleeve so here goes. I thought with a name like that they were going to be some kind of Americana rock, so it’s with an element of relief that I discover that actually they’re doing some kind of psychedelic pop-rock which sounds a bit like Primal Scream but even more like Leeds hopefuls of yesteryear The Music. The baggy-stained psych grooves and cheekily catchy licks and strident vocal style all remind me of that band an awful lot.

Turn it over and there’s ‘Blackheart/Filth’ which starts off all ‘90s stadium pop before a Jane’s Addiction-y breakdown and, yes, a bit that sounds just like The Music. Phil just said “I never really thought of The Music as having a ‘sound’ before, but this band does sound just like The Music.”

7/10 Mike Ralph Customer review, 28th May 2014

Why did I buy this vinyl when I have'nt heard it before? Good question Mike, the answer - simple, Alan Wills, sad loss to Liverpool's Deltasonic and most of all to his family.R.I.P

The record itself is what Deltasonic stand for, unusual, indie and a liitle quirky, I liked it, not for everyones pallet, but well worth the purchase, enjoyed the B side too.
