6/10 Clinton Staff review, 13 September 2013
Sometimes I sit here on a Friday wondering if I’ll ever like music again. I’m terminally frustrated this morning. Not that everything is shit, just that it's all sorta OK I guess.
The sound on the A side is incomparable to the words I see written about their previous releases, words that seem to suggest both psych and Sonic Youth. Neither is present on a sweet-ish keyboard led lament that's more Beach House than anything else. The lady’s voice is lovely, with a very agreeable tone to it, but I get the feeling I’ve heard it before.
Having said all that, compared to the B side it's as different as blancmange and sausages. A horrible guitar solo over thrashing drums, like the very, very unlistenable bits of Yo La Tengo when they ditch the songs and go off in a psych wander. So despite a ying and yang, I’m still not happy. The A side is sweet but bland, the B side unlistenable guff.

Ying & Yang from Elisia , smooth lush 'A' side , whilst 'B'' side is melt down on the fretboard classical of her style. one can just imagine her writhing on the floor of the recording studio wrenching out to distortion factor 11 those guitar strings. Long may she reign.
