7/10 Clinton Staff review, 13 September 2013
Hailing out of Northampton, Massachusetts (NOT Northampton, Hampshire - they are two very different places), these lot have a nice line in tuneful slacker punk pop: one part Replacements, one part early Lemonheads - but with head firmly tilted towards the C86 janglings emanating from the UK.
There were a slew of US bands doing this kind of stuff back in the day where the raucous bar-room brawl of the US guys met the Brit jangle. The Wishniaks spring to mind - they were great. These are less jangly, more chunky, more like a child-friendly Hüsker Dü with a kind of solid meat and potatoes sound. But it's a big load of fuzzy fun.
