Aw yeah, here’s another 7” from culty cheeseball ‘70s metallers Uncle Acid! ‘Mind Crawler’ is a highlight from their recent ‘Mind Control’ LP which showcases their Beatles-harmonies-meets-Sabbath-riffs (Phil says Tame Impala gone heavy metal but isn’t that basically the same thing?) aesthetic in bombastic fashion. No fucking about, good riffs, good melodic hooks, it’s everything you want from one of these ‘70s-worshipping rock bands.

Turn the bright orange disc over and there’s a more countryish number with some mouth organ on it - a cover, in fact, of Charles Manson’s ‘Get On Home’. The country vibes take them from Beatles-meets-Sabbath more into Beatles-meets-Grateful Dead territory but it’s an entertaining little deep cut for those of you obsessive enough to collect every disc they’re dropping. It’s fair to say the A side’s the main attraction here though, what a tune. I love the sleazy ‘80s b-movie video-box style illustration on the front cover too.
